And staying on the topic, an Indian or SA board goes much deeper than accepting what the accused says. It doesn't buy the weather updates drivel and let the accused off. Why would anybody pay Warne to say what the weather is going to be?! There might be something more sinister than that. Atleast on that record the Indian board is way better than CA. "Did you just provide a weather update? Ok pay 13 dollars fine. Oh! your mom gave you the drug, stand up on the bench"
I know you would say that Penny. The tainted Indians are yet to play their next match. Whereas the proper righteous Aussies fined him! And he goes on to play plenty of matches and has the temerity to call a fellow spinner a chucker. Awesome gent he is!
438/9, dont forget Warne's regular weather updates!
Enigma, i don't think Ed can do anything about Arrogant's post, and even the Indians do not hold BCCI in affection. You have to look from Arrogant's point of view, i. The tournament where almost the whole world plays is not conducted by ACB, but BCCI. ii. The baggy greeners, who were considered innocent and pure got tempted by these barons and whatnots and are having fun. Some people even timed their retirement to coincide with the tournament. That must be traumatic to watch! Instead of cursing at his own countrymen, he is ranting against the people who seduced and let them down the wrong path. Wait till Weatherman Warne wins the trophy, there would be a long post, admiring Warne and at the same time cursing the pointlessness of the tournament. It may even have a point about Indians cant even win their own tournament. That should be funny to read!
Enigma, I dont see anything racist in arrogant's post. But it is obvious from his post that it is the prefix "Indian" that rankles him. As you said before, a pacifier like APL or something might take care of that!
The revelation of the tournament must be Shane "Weatherman" Warne. If only he had stuck to straight and narrow, he would have been a better captain than Ponting. On the other hand, he must be thankful that he is still playing cricket inspite of all his shenanigans.
proph, I am rooting for Bangalore because I admire these sticky pry-the-bat-from-my-cold-dead-fingers cricketers. It is more fascinating for me watch Atherton, Steve Waugh, Dravid or Chanderpaul than the wizards. If each of Bangalore's batsmen were distributed to different teams, all the teams would end up better.
The reason that Oz got beaten by Zimbabwe not because it was a lottery, but because they took it too lightly. One can cite another instance where Bangladesh came pretty close to win a Test (gasp) against Australia. If anything, it means that you need to have your game spot on, to win in T20. Lesser time does not mean lesser skills. Then in the opposite case, does 5 day cricket require lesser skills than a timeless test? Test and T20 require different approaches to the game and not necessarily lesser skills.
prophet, take out Jaffer and Chanderpaul and replace them with Misbah and White, you got a better batting order already. Only caveat is Misbah should not play the last over.
Sorry y2jver1, I lost my mojo after that incident, only to regain it after watching Kapugedera's awesome all round skills yesterday.
saman, just because the format is compressed, it does not mean it would require less skills. Of course one would not find the natural ebb and flow or the million little plots of Test cricket in T20, but it would still take some talent to perform here as well. If you look at the performers in T20, it is the same list of suspects who have done well in the other forms of the game.
IPL has around 75% of international cricketers taking part. If anybody can complain about the banality of the matches, it has to be them. They look committed enough and take it very seriously. Of course there is money involved, and honestly, I will be happy for anybody who uses their skill to maximise their earning. Of course there will be some Humphrey Applebys of the world, who play holier than thou, but that might stop when their country gets its own version of IPL, If the world cricket is in such state that it takes a committee to decide Test cricket is the best, then it is in a sorrier shape than I thought.
Prophet, the bangalore team is not so bad as it looks. They got a very decent bowling attack. With some reshuffling of the batting order, they can perform better than as they are doing right now. But my money will be on Delhi, they look the most balanced of the lot.
What a spectacular game that was, between Superkings and Daredevils! Edge of the seat entertainment! And Arrogant, are you watching the matches? Its really good fun. Have the Oz players reached your shores after playing the games here? Good. BTW, here is the less known fact for today: According to the latest ICC ruling, you can watch BOTH Test cricket and T20. Awesome, isnt it?
Nice touch about Sreesanth's mommy, Ed. Why dont you grab an id and start ranting too?
hehe, funny seeing Sreesanth crying like some Gilly - Hughes combination! Harbhajan is losing it.
Alan, differences aside, nice of you to come and comment back. I am going to stick my neck out and predict a grass topper in Ahmedabad where Steyn and Sharma are going to clean up the batsmen, but it depends on whether the cricket club in Ahmedabad is opposed to the current ruling faction in BCCI. Complicated, isnt it?!
Rubbish. You have a lot of dots, but do the dots connect? The first pitch in three test series was a batting track. So? Is there any concerted movement by the Indian fans that made BCCI produce such wickets? As if there is a poll done before a series where Indian fans vote for a particular wicket. What a load of bull. Apart from Australia and to an extent England, India is the only place where you get packed houses on a non-weekend playday. and ODI and 20/20. All of them. And Whats wrong with liking 20/20? Its not that India has started this format. BCCI was reluctant to even hold any 20/20 matches before the 20/20world cup. India didnt even play a single 20/20 before that. Now that BCCI is giving shape to a professional tournament, its all capitalist greed. What nonsense. Its not as if the entire world dislikes it. the only matches they get stadium audience worldwide is a 20/20 match. Why is that everything happens to Indian cricket is viewed with some kind of conspiracy angle. Where does even the question of Indian cricket being right and wrong arise? Somehow a dead wicket lead to a baying Indian fans wanting a featherbad to bat on which leads to India holding cards etc etc. This is not some convoluted April fool's joke, right?

I have to admit that ArrogantOz's latest posts have a ring of truth to it. If you believe those things good on you mate! As for me, I will be watching Eng vs NZ as well as T20. Both are exciting in their own way.
