Tom Cooper racked a maiden ODI ton in vain as Afghanistan beat Holland by six wickets in their World Cricket League fixture in Voorburg on Wednesday.

After losing the toss and being stuck into bat by the Afghans, the Dutch posted 202 for eight in their 50-over allotment, with Australian-born Cooper top-scoring with 101.

His knock came off 155 balls and included nine fours.

Khaliq Dad was the pick of the Afghanistan, bagging figures of three for 30.

In reply, the men from the gulf fetched their victory target off 42.3 overs, with captain Nawroz Mangal leading from the front across a knock of 67 not out off 53 balls.

Mohammad Shahzad did his bit with a half-century.
