A maiden ODI century from Mohammad Shahzad sealed a six-wicket victory for Afghanistan over the Netherlands to give the Asian side a share of the series spoils.

Chasing 232 to win in Amstelveen, Afghanistan coasted home with 20 deliveries to spare as Shahzad struck 110 to ensure that his nation continued an impressive start to life with one-day status.

The opener was aided by Samiullah Shenwari's 39 not out after Nowroz Mangal had taken three for 35 from six overs to limit the home side to a gettable target.

Ryan ten Doeschate (98 not out) and Eric Szwarczynski (65) were the only Dutch batsmen to shine with the bat in a total of 231 for seven, and the duo were forced to rebuild following an impressive performance in the field by the tourists.

Afghan opening bowlers Shapoor Zadran (one for 38 from 10 overs) and Hasti Gul (one for 25 from 10 overs) both produced stingey spells which restricted Holland and set the platform for their side.

The two-match series finished one apiece.
