Ramnaresh Sarwan scored a superb century as the West Indies drew their Test series with Sri Lanka in Port of Spain.

Sarwan teamed up with Shivnarine Chanderpaul to see the Windies reach their victory target of 253 with six wickets to spare in the evening session of the second Test.

The hosts were happy to take their time in reaching the total, especially after Sri Lanka had reduced them to 24-2 and 73-3.

Captain Chris Gayle departed for 10 to a stunning catch at point by Tillakaratne Dilshan off the bowling of Thilan Thushara.

And Gayle was quickly joined by Sewnarine Chattergoon after he was trapped leg before by Chaminda Vaas for 11.

Marlon Samuels also departed for 11 after he was caught by Malinda Warnapura at point off Vaas.

However from there on in it was all about West Indies, with Sarwan and Chanderpaul remaining resolute.

Sarwan needed 151 balls to bring up his 10th Test ton, with a swept four off Muttiah Muralitharan seeing him reach the milestone.

Chanderpaul was not to be left out, with his patient half-century coming off 99 balls.

Sarwan, though, departed with the Windies needing just 23 runs for victory, the batsman caught by Dilshan off Muralitharan for 102.

The wicket brought to the end Sarwan's 157-run stand with Chanderpaul.

Devon Smith wasted little time in finishing off the game, with a couple of lusty blows off the bowling of Murali.

Chanderpaul finished unbeaten on 86, with Smith 14 not out.
